played a short 15 minute set at swamping’s sunaural summer event at firestorm cafe in asheville, nc. the ipad takes a backseat to a korg nanocontrol surface with real, physical sliders. it’s amazing how expressive a real slider is when compared to a finger pulled against a sheet of glass. more physical control, less ambiguous automation. there is a certain honesty to touching things that are real.
my usual mlrv2/midi_slide via quadrants setup on the monome has been decomposed to just a full grid running mlrv2, as the nanocontrol is now handling all of my discrete input.
